Sage Cafe was started amongst the litchi orchids of the North Coast and quickly grew into a family favourite with both the local Salt Rock residences as well as holiday makers. Having changed hands over the years, I was fortunate to purchase the Cafe in September 2019. I was born and raised in Kwa-Zulu Natal and I left to study and work in the rat race of Johannesburg. It goes without saying that when the opportunity arose to come back to this relaxed gorgeous province, I jumped at it.
I have always felt happiest when I can see people around me who are having a good time, enjoying good food and basking in a relaxed atmosphere. I went searching for this love while working for hotels, restaurants and events companies but my dream was to own my eatery one day.
It was also in Johannesburg that I met my wife, Megan who runs the Sage Nail Bar. Our eldest son is Travis and our youngest son Greg (pictured above) arrived 4 months into our Sage journey. I am unequivocally a family man, I treasure family days and look forward to many camping and fishing excursions with my boys.
So, here we are, with everything in place. I’m fulfilling my dream of running a family oriented Cafe, with the aim to create a relaxed environment that caters for the whole family.
Ask for me next time you pop in, I’d love to say Hi.
